Privacy by design. S-Capture does not require an account and does not automatically upload screenshots, page URLs, annotations or descriptions to the developer's servers.
1. Overview
S-Capture is a browser extension that allows users to capture content from the current browser tab, select a screen region, add visual annotations, blur or highlight information, and copy or save the resulting screenshot.
Screenshot processing and annotation are performed locally within the user's browser.
2. Information We Collect
S-Capture does not collect, store, sell, or transmit users' personal information to the developer or external servers.
S-Capture does not collect:
- Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other personally identifiable information.
- Passwords, authentication credentials, or financial information.
- Browsing history or location information.
- Personal communications.
- Analytics or behavioral tracking data.
- Advertising identifiers.
No S-Capture account is required.
3. Screenshots and Website Content
When a user explicitly activates S-Capture, the extension may temporarily access content displayed in the active browser tab to provide screenshot and annotation functionality.
- Visible content of the current browser tab.
- A screen region selected by the user.
- Page title and URL when required for user-requested contextual information.
- Text or annotations entered by the user.
- Screenshot content selected for copying or saving.
This information is processed locally. S-Capture does not automatically upload screenshots, page content, URLs, annotations, or descriptions to the developer's servers or third-party servers.
4. Chrome Permissions
activeTab
This permission allows S-Capture to temporarily access the current browser tab after the user explicitly activates the extension. It does not provide permanent access to browsing activity.
scripting
This permission allows S-Capture to execute its packaged scripts and styles in the active tab for features such as screen-region selection and capture interactions. These scripts are executed as part of user-initiated functionality.
5. Local Processing
Screenshot capture, annotation, editing, and related processing are performed locally within the browser. Screenshots and annotations are not automatically transmitted to an external server.
6. Remote Code
S-Capture does not execute remotely hosted JavaScript or WebAssembly. The executable code required by the extension is packaged with the extension.
7. Data Sharing and Sale
S-Capture does not sell user data or transfer user data to third parties for advertising, marketing, profiling, creditworthiness, lending, or other unrelated purposes.
8. Analytics and Advertising
S-Capture does not use advertising services and does not use analytics or tracking technologies to monitor users' browsing behavior.
9. Data Retention
S-Capture does not maintain a server-side database of users' screenshots, browsing history, annotations, or captured website content. Files explicitly saved by users remain under their control. Clipboard content is managed by the user's operating system and browser.
10. Security
S-Capture follows a minimal-permission approach. Users should avoid sharing sensitive information unless necessary and can use the blur feature to conceal sensitive content before sharing screenshots.
11. Children's Privacy
S-Capture does not knowingly collect personal information from children or other users. The extension does not require an account or personal information for its core functionality.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when S-Capture's functionality or privacy practices change. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
